Competitive Program Code of Conduct
The competitive program is for the wrestler who wants to wrestle at a competitive level in both individual and team tournaments, learn all there is about wrestling, have fun, and challenge themselves. The wrestlers enrolled in this program are expected to:
• Show respect to coaches - they are in charge.
• Show respect to fellow wrestlers, parents, and school
equipment.
• Show respect to the Byron school facilities and any other
school facility the wrestler is visiting.
• When the coach is talking, no wrestler should be talking. If a
wrestler has a question or concern while the coach is talking, a
hand should be raised and the question asked after the coach
is done. During live wrestling, wrestlers can ask a coach who
is helping in the area.
• There will be no biting, scratching, etc. to other wrestlers. This
conduct will be addressed with the wrestler and parents.
Continued poor behavior may result in the child being asked to
leave the program.
• Parents and siblings in the wrestling room are to be respectful
and use quiet voices while the coach(es) are speaking.
• Wrestlers: Do not leave the wrestling room without a coach or
parent knowing where you are going. Parents: if you drop your
child off for practice, make sure they know how to contact you
in case of an emergency. Parents will be expected to pick up
their child in case of an illness or injury.
• During team tournaments, all team members are to remain in
their seats until the last wrestler has finished wrestling. All
team members will clean up the area and leave the area as a
team.
• Byron Youth Wrestling is not responsible for your child during
practices and tournaments.
